Sharing a dedication

The Tree of Lights is a place to remember and celebrate someone special. Please only share information you have permission to make public.

What appears on the tree

A dedication contains the name you are remembering, your message, and an optional “from” name. Approved dedications can be read and shared by anyone. You can leave the “from” field empty.

Before a message is published

Messages are held for staff review. Please be kind and respectful. Do not include addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, financial information, advertising, or private information about anyone. Staff may decline a message that is unsuitable for a public remembrance space.

How the application works

The application stores submissions on the club’s hosting service. It uses a session cookie for the form and staff sign-in, and short-lived, pseudonymous request records to limit automated submissions. Hosting systems may also retain their own access logs. This website does not collect card or payment details; any donation takes place separately on the linked donation service.

Changes or removal

Contact CWBI 2020 Virtual Lions Club (CIO), registered charity number 1191872 to ask about a dedication or request its removal. The club must publish its contact details and confirm its retention arrangements before the public submission form is opened.

Dedications are free. A donation is never required to add a light.
