Situation

During the COVID-19 lockdown, a duty clerk was tasked with manually consolidating seven daily reports for 550 personnel. This consumed 4–5 hours per day, straining operational capacity and delaying decision-making.

Task

Design and deploy an automated solution to consolidate these reports into a single, actionable view of unit health — with minimal training overhead and full auditability.

Action

Architected a Power Query–driven data model inside Microsoft Access to automate the consolidation logic. Delivered a Business Process Guide and provided remote onboarding support. Engaged stakeholders to overcome initial scepticism and validate the model’s output.

Result

Reduced daily processing time from 245 minutes to 7 minutes — a 97% reduction. Reclaimed over 1,300 hours of manual effort across the lockdown period. Delivered zero-touch logic with symbolic audit clarity, enabling resilient reporting under pressure.

Tech

Situation

The Daily Occurrence Register was a critical paper-based record maintained manually by duty clerks, leading to inefficiencies, delays, and risks of data loss or inaccessibility during incidents.

Task

To digitise the existing paper process using available Microsoft 365 tools to improve accessibility, accuracy, and auditability while reducing administrative overhead.

Action

Designed and implemented a Microsoft Forms front-end for data entry linked to a SharePoint List backend with role-based access controls. Ensured replication of all legacy fields, enforced security permissions, and linked entries to user accounts for accountability.

Result

Achieved a secure, accessible, and audit-ready digital register that reduced paper handling costs, improved data accuracy and timeliness, enhanced audit trails, and enabled real-time reporting, demonstrating effective digital transformation using existing infrastructure.

Situation

Password guidance often tells learners to use longer passwords without showing why exhaustive candidate dictionaries quickly become impractical to store.

Task

Create an accessible classroom visualisation that compares dictionary storage growth across common character-set rules and familiar storage-capacity benchmarks.

Action

Built a responsive Chart.js model covering password lengths from 8 to 32 characters. Used logarithmic calculations to represent exhaustive dictionaries for 52, 62, and 76-character sets without relying on imprecise large-number exponentiation.

Result

Delivered a portable teaching page that makes exponential storage growth visible against home NAS, datacentre, and global-storage assumptions. The chart is optimised for projection, interaction, and PowerPoint screenshots.

Tech
Chart.js + logarithmic modelling

A standalone browser visualisation with no build step and clear, inspectable calculations.

Situation

CWBI 2020 Virtual Lions Club wanted to explore a festive, non-religious online experience where visitors could remember someone special and optionally support the charity.

Task

Turn an early concept into a material stakeholder demonstration covering the public tree, dedication submission, sharing journey, moderation workflow, and separate JustGiving handoff.

Action

Designed and built a responsive proof of concept with an interactive bauble tree, accessible list view, dedication preview, browser-based moderation queue, focused sharing links, and HTTPS deployment through Plesk.

Result

Delivered a working end-to-end demonstration that stakeholders can explore on desktop or mobile before committing to production hosting, shared persistence, authentication, and operational governance.

How I work

Modular flows, defensive guards, symbolic audit blocks, clear decision gates, and measurable KPIs at every step. I build artefacts that are traceable and easy to maintain.
